Description
Bovine horns excavated from La Draga Neolithic site. This site dates from around 7000 years ago, and is mostly submerged beneath Banyoles Lake, in Catalonia, Spain. Evidence indicates that the area was farmed for crops and cattle in the Neolithic period. Discovered in 1990, excavation by the Centre for Underwater Archaeology of Catalonia began in 1994, uncovering a range of artefacts including ceramics, intact wooden tools and tool handles, and weapons such as bows and javelins. Reconstructions and artefacts from the site are displayed at La Draga Neolithic Park.
